Another cause taken up by LACE recently is the light-hearted but important campaign to inspire a higher national voter turnout for local, statewide, and national elections.

Suitably adorned with VOTE rosettes and handing out custom-imprinted campaign buttons,  Edna, Maud, Pearl and Agnes have been exuberantly stumping far and wide, urging every citizen within shouting distance to “Exercise Your Right to Vote.”

The LACE scooters have been specially equipped with aero-dynamic and weather-proof campaign posters, mounted in front and towering above on torque-resistant poles, emblazoned with distinct and inspiring VOTE messages.

When asked their most favorite campaign moment, the LACE grannies each differed significantly in their response…

Agnes:  “My, kissing all those precious curly-mopped, sweet-eyed babes—oh and the little children, too!”

Edna:  “Listen, honey, mine was puffing on an old-fashion cigar and blowing smoke up some local incumbent’s aspirations!”

Pearl:  “Well, dear, I managed to make a few small back-room bets on the major propositions—or perhaps  I was majorly propositioned in those back rooms, I can’t really remember!”

Maud:  “Please!  I don’t smoke, I don’t gamble, and I don’t kiss babies—they are much too sticky!”

Regardless, if recent voter turnout polls are any indication, the LACE grannies are doing an exemplary job!
